Molybdenum gives this blade a super fine edge ability, these are thinner than their German counterparts and stay super sharp. The GM series is a great value and holds a fantastic edge. This stainless allow allows for a thin and stiff blade that is easy to care for.
This is a great entry level knife which holds a sharp edge. The molybdenum makes the blade hard and has a fine grain.

Very great no frills gyuto. I've had this exact same knife before a couple years ago but gifted it to a friend. I missed how well it cut and sharpened up so I bought another and this one is just as good as the last one. Very thin but still pretty tough and can handle some more abusive rock chopping than most thin gyuto. Holds an edge well on right poly cutting boards, responds really well to stropping and ceramic honing rod. Blade comes straight as an arrow, fit and finish on the handle was great with no gaps. For a second/outlet labeled knife it is a very great deal and is only blemished with some small surface scratches. Probably my favorite gyuto I've used through over 20 year career. Thank you very much for making such a wonderful knife
LOVE IT.
If there is something wrong with it then it must be microscopic. I see nothing but a beautiful, high quality knife. Sharp straight out of the box, put it to use on day one and might as well be using a hot knife on butter!
After 2 weeks I have fallen in love with this knife. Well balanced. Nicely finished. Exceptionally sharp. I’ll be adding more Kikuichi to my collection.
Amazing.
Great buy and excellent quality knife! I hope to buy more.
